Rt. 399, once on Santa Rosa Island head west on Rt. 399 (Fort Pickens
Rd.) to the fort. Park in the parking lot near the kiosk close to the
main fort. Walk east along the trail that starts at the kiosk. Towhee
can be observed in the vicinity of the bench that is not far east of the
slight curve in the trail. It sometimes associates with a small flock of
sparrows. This is probably the same bird that wintered in the same
location last winter.
