I saw one at Lake Apopka Drive a week ago which is either in  Lake or Orange County.
I had one in Sumter County prior to that and we have had them in Marion County for at least 2 weeks, now.

Anyone know the average arrival dates for the first fall belted kingfishers?

I saw one this morning and can’t remember ever seeing one this early in the season.

Subject: Eastern Phoebe in September

Just a note for eBird users. Eastern Phoebes don't normally arrive in peninsular Florida before the first week of October, but the database contains reports for all parts of September and even August. If you see an Eastern Phoebe before October 1st, please document it with a photograph or at least a good written description. Be sure to rule out Empidonax flycatchers and, especially, Eastern Wood-Pewees, common migrants throughout September.

Thanks,
