I got my life roadrunner at the hotel Janet mentions while family members were playing golf. It is also a good launching point to drive to Mt. Lemmon. Highly recommend it.

Hi Chris,

I would recommend Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, located just Northeast of Tucson. It's a beautiful place and not too expensive. According to their promotional material, they offer two "Tom Fazio-designed GPA golf courses." The rooms are layed out around a large, birdy garden. Our list from just the garden included: Costa's and Broad-billed Hummingbirds, Black-throated Gray Warbler, Black and Say's Phoebes, Cactus Wren and Black-throated Sparrow to name just a few. Also, Sabino Canyon, a birding hotspot, is only a 5-minute drive away and Mt. Lemmon, although farther, is very accessible for day trips.

Just an idea.

Hi Chris,
While in AZ, we stayed a night in Green Valley off of I-19 between Tucson and Tubec. It is a retirement community which has golfing as a pastime. Madera Canyon is nearby which is an AZ birding hotspot. Tubec is known for its art galleries, etc. I don't golf so this is the extent of my knowledge. Someone else may have more info. Have a wonderful trip.
